It was 18 October 08, Sagar, Santosh, Debashish, Shridhar and Divya were about to come to Bangalore for my first “Professional Trek” and I was ready with my backpack.
They finally made it 2 midnight and we set off to Virajpet. We arrived at Palace Guest House and with the help of route map we started our trek to Tadayendamol which literally means heighest point in Coorg. Trek started by 9 and we took some superb snaps, especially me since I had got a brand new Nikon P80.
The tar road initially is full of Moths and butterflies.
The trek was pretty simple and we reached peak by 2 clock, but it was after that the real experience started.
Sagar, Debashish and Shridhar went to get from big roack and heavens poured down :).
But by 5.30 skies was clear and gave one of very beautiful sunsets.
Next day, we got up and reached down by noon. we just took a casual trip to Nagarahole and reached Mysore by 8.
Route:
Common Point: Mysore --> Virajpet --> 2 kms before Kakkabe
Difficulty Level: Medium,, pretty
+s: Little chances of missing out, beautiful landscapes.
-s: I dont see any, may be little remote.
Dos: Basic homework for a trek, salt water for leeches.
Don’ts: Dont venture into forest near by, there might not be the scary tigers and leapords but there still might be some poisonous snakes.
